A wandering, eclectic history of education, employment, and hobbies has left me oddly qualified for my duties at Ice Blink Studios. Some points of interest along the way include: a childhood spent in such exotic places as Portugal, Austria, and the Lowell House Master's Residence at Harvard University; a degree in English Language from Carleton College in Northfield, MN; studies in music production at the Berklee School of Music followed by gigs doing live sound and performing in countless short-lived rock groups; computer graphics for software and web use, including some of the very first icons ever used on the World Wide Web; software development for MOTU, GTE, Rutgers University, and SGI; and 25 years of music scoring and sound design for theater and short films, including two of Doug Chiang's Robota trailers. After over twenty years of "day jobs" in the computer industry, I made the leap to full-time work in the film industry to do research for Beowulf at Ice Blink.
