Andrew graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a dual degree in Literary and Cultural Studies and Creative Writing. After three years working for the university as a Senior Software Engineer and teaching assistant, he moved to Austin, Texas and worked for Trilogy Development Group on large-scale data integration and data warehousing projects. He joined VolunteerMatch, a San Francisco-based nonprofit, in early 2002.
